Hyderabad: KT Rama Rao, the BRS working president, expressed his willingness to cooperate with investigators, even if it means attending inquiries 100 times. On Monday, he asserted his innocence and highlighted his efforts in promoting Telangana globally. He challenged CM Revanth Reddy to discuss the Formula E event openly with the public.
After attending an inquiry, Rama Rao spoke to the media, defending his involvement in organizing the Hyderabad Formula E race. He emphasized that he did nothing wrong and instead boosted Telangana’s international image. Rao criticized Revanth Reddy for avoiding public debates on the Formula E issue, despite his repeated challenges. He mentioned offering to take a lie detector test, which Revanth declined.
Rao explained that holding the second Formula E event in Hyderabad was a strategic decision following the success of the first. He stated that funds were appropriately transferred to the organizing agency, asking, “Where is the corruption?” He referenced former IPS officer Dr. RS Praveen Kumar, who noted that using the ACB in a non-corruption case was unusual in his 26 years of service.
KTR accused the ACB of asking irrelevant questions allegedly crafted by someone named Chittinayudu. He claimed Revanth Reddy, previously caught with Rs 50 lakh and jailed, is targeting BRS leaders with false charges. Rao accused Revanth of trying to involve KCR, summon Harish Rao, and harass him through inquiries, calling it a political vendetta. He labeled Revanth as a “cheap Chief Minister” practicing diversionary politics, criticizing the Congress government for lacking governance skills and failing to keep promises.
KTR also condemned the Congress government for failing to govern effectively, accusing it of reneging on promises. He highlighted the abandonment of the Kamareddy Declaration, which promised 42 percent reservations for BCs, and criticized the manipulation of the Rythu Bandhu scheme, turning it into an election tool instead of a consistent support for farmers.
