Hyderabad: On Wednesday, KT Rama Rao, the BRS Working President, criticized the decision to launch a CBI investigation against former Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. He called this move an insult to the people of Telangana.
At Erravalli, KTR welcomed Prabhakar Rao, a senior Congress leader from Manuguru, Pinapaka constituency, along with his followers, into the BRS. KTR expressed disapproval of targeting a leader who ensured Hyderabad‘s water supply for 50 years through projects like Mallanna Sagar and Kondapochamma Sagar. He highlighted the hypocrisy in Congress as Rahul Gandhi once criticized the CBI as being controlled by Modi, while Revanth Reddy now praises it. This, he said, shows the disarray in Congress.
KTR praised KCR for achieving unparalleled progress in a decade, turning Telangana green with irrigation projects. He accused both Congress and BJP of trying to defame KCR with unfounded cases due to his popularity. KTR criticized Revanth Reddy’s leadership, saying it plunged the state into chaos within 21 months, with farmers struggling for urea.
In 2014, Telangana ranked 14th in agriculture, but under KCR, and with projects like Kaleshwaram, Sitarama, and Palamuru-Rangareddy, the state became a top food producer. He noted Kaleshwaram as the world’s largest lift irrigation project, supplying 2 TMCs of water daily for irrigation and drinking.
KTR stated KCR’s government supported Singareni coal workers, implementing most of their demands. He urged reflection on BRS’s underperformance in those areas despite the support. KTR called on party workers in Khammam district to raise the pink flag in all 10 constituencies and announced visits to Bhadrachalam and Kothagudem on September 10 and 11. He emphasized the importance of revealing Congress’ betrayals and BJP’s risks, urging unity for success in elections. KTR concluded that restoring Telangana’s progress requires re-electing KCR as Chief Minister, expressing gratitude to Prabhakar Rao and his followers for joining BRS.
