Wanaparthy – A new idol of Lalita Tripura Sundari Devi is being installed at the Sri Dharma Shastra Ayyappa Swamy Temple in Pebbair town. The temple is holding a special three-day religious event to mark the occasion.
The ceremonies began on Monday at 8 a.m. with several traditional Hindu rituals. Devotees and priests performed the Ganapati Puja, followed by Punyahavachanam, Ritvigvaranam, and Dwajarohanam—a flag-hoisting ritual symbolizing the start of the spiritual event.
As part of the sacred preparations, the temple hosted the installation of important spiritual symbols. These included the Navagraha, Sri Chakra, Sarvatobhadra Mandala, Yogini Mandala, Vastu Mandala, and Kalasha Sthapana. These elements are believed to bring cosmic harmony and spiritual energy to the temple.
Later in the evening, rituals continued with the collection of holy soil, a sprouting ceremony, and the establishment of the sacred fire. Priests also conducted a water immersion ritual, Mahanirajanam (a grand light offering), and mantra-pushpam (offering of sacred flowers accompanied by chants).
The day’s sacred rites concluded with powerful Vedic chanting, led by Madanapuram Gopalakrishna Guruswamy and his team of priests.
Several key members of the temple trust were present. These included honorary president Veerachari, president D. Srinivasulu, general secretary Vadde Eshwar, along with Punna Srinivasulu, Satyananda Reddy, Ramesh Goud, Narayana, and Dayanand.
The consecration event continues for two more days, drawing devotees from across the region to witness the spiritual celebrations.
