K Chandrashekar Rao, the president of BRS, is facing trouble as his daughter K Kavitha was arrested in a liquor scam in Delhi. Now, the city police have also arrested Kanna Rao, who is KCR’s elder brother’s son, in a land grabbing case. Kanna Rao is said to have formed the “K-Gang” which was involved in grabbing land and making settlements in the city.
The Kanna Rao gang would target lands that were in dispute and illegally take over them by threatening the owners and demanding money from them. The Adibatla police have already filed a case of attempted murder against Kanna Rao and his associates for trespassing on private land and attacking the staff of a private company.
A complaint was made by Bandoju Srinivas, the director of OSR Projects, stating that Kanna Rao and 30 other BRS leaders tried to forcibly take over two acres of land in Adibatla. They not only attempted to grab the land but also caused damage by destroying fences and walls, making the property vulnerable to further takeovers using heavy vehicles like JCBs.
Based on the complaint, a special team was formed to track down the main culprits who were on the run. The police have registered cases of attempted murder, trespassing, causing damage, using explosives, and rioting under various sections of the IPC. It is also alleged that Kanna Rao kidnapped a realtor named Saroor Rao and took over his land.
KCR’s relative has been accused of threatening many others, forcing them to leave the city due to the torture they faced. The police are investigating every complaint filed by victims of Kanna Rao. So far, 10 members of the Kanna Rao gang have been arrested, and the police are actively searching for another 30 members who are still at large.
