The State Election Commission in Hyderabad has begun preparations for the upcoming panchayat elections. They have announced that the final voters’ list will be ready by September 21.
As part of this process, the Commission is speeding up the preparation of voter lists at the Ward and Gram Panchayat levels. The lists will be based on the current voter list used for Assembly elections.
During a recent review meeting, State Election Commissioner C Parthasarathy directed officials from the Panchayat Raj and the Centre for Good Governance to categorize the voter lists according to Wards and Gram Panchayats. The draft of the voter list will be released on September 6.
After the draft is reviewed and any mistakes are corrected, the final list will be published on September 21. Additionally, on August 29, officials will attend an orientation program to help them carry out this task efficiently.
