BJP’s Big Victory in Maharashtra: Kishan Reddy Credits People's Trust in Modi’s Leadership

Union Minister and Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy shared his thoughts on the BJP’s recent electoral success in Maharashtra, calling it a testament to the people’s trust in the “double-engine government” led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Despite what he described as “false propaganda” by the Congress party, the BJP alliance achieved a historic victory in the state, securing the highest number of votes and seats.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Kishan Reddy said that the opposition alliance tried to mislead people in the last parliamentary elections by spreading misinformation regarding reservation and alleged injustices to the Marathi people. However, he stated that the public soon saw through these tactics and rewarded the BJP alliance with a resounding mandate in Maharashtra.

He highlighted that this is the first time the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance has achieved such a major victory since the formation of Maharashtra and Gujarat as separate states. Kishan Reddy accused the Congress party of dividing people using caste, language, and religion, which he claimed has caused significant harm to the country over the years.

Reddy alleged that Congress leaders in Maharashtra used the Constitution to spread “venomous propaganda” against the BJP. However, he said the people refused to believe these lies, and the BJP-led Mahayuti alliance earned a majority even in SC and ST constituencies. He emphasized that this marks the third consecutive term for the BJP in Maharashtra, a victory he attributes to the development work done under PM Modi’s leadership.

The Union Minister also pointed out BJP’s consistent performance across other states. He mentioned that the party has come to power repeatedly in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Uttarakhand, Haryana, and Madhya Pradesh. In Goa, the BJP not only secured the majority of votes but also retained power. He contrasted this success with the Congress party’s declining presence, now limited to just three states—Karnataka, Telangana, and Himachal Pradesh.

Kishan Reddy criticized the Congress for its poor performance in Maharashtra. Despite alliances with other parties like Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena faction, Congress failed to win even half of the 44 seats it had secured in the previous election. He mocked the Congress for allegedly booking four special flights in anticipation of victory, only to become “a laughing stock in front of the people.”

He also took a dig at Uddhav Thackeray, claiming that the leader lacks the political legacy of Balasaheb Thackeray. According to Reddy, many of the seats won by Uddhav’s faction were not Shiv Sena votes but protest votes against the real Shiv Sena. He asserted that the genuine Shiv Sena’s votes went to the BJP under Modi’s leadership and that Uddhav’s actions against his party’s principles have alienated both MLAs and the public.

Kishan Reddy also spoke about the BJP’s influence in recent elections in Jammu and Kashmir, where the party reportedly garnered strong support. He dismissed Congress’s allegations of EVM tampering as baseless, calling it a habitual excuse whenever the party loses elections. He added that Congress only praises EVMs when they win, showing disrespect for the people’s mandate.

In conclusion, Kishan Reddy emphasized that the BJP’s repeated electoral victories reflect the people’s trust in the development and governance provided under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He expressed confidence in the BJP’s continuing success across the nation.
