Hyderabad: PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud expressed disappointment that while other southern states have had BC leaders as Chief Ministers, the Telugu states have not experienced this yet.

During the 375th birth anniversary celebration of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud Maharaj at Ravindra Bharati, Mahesh Goud praised Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, for his strong fight for social justice. He voiced optimism that, following Rahul Gandhi’s vision and considering the large BC community, a BC leader will eventually lead the Congress party as Chief Minister in the region. “Though other southern states have elected BC leaders as CMs, the Telugu states still await this change,” he noted.

Mahesh Goud highlighted the significant backing from various communities during the recent ‘Maha Dharna’ at Jantar Mantar. He criticized BJP leaders for their inconsistency, pointing out that those who supported 42% BC reservation in the Assembly have changed their stance after reaching Delhi. He accused Union Minister Kishan Reddy of making unclear statements about BC reservations. “We are committed to ensuring 42% reservations for BCs in local body elections,” he stated firmly.
