Hyderabad: A significant operation led by the EAGLE Telangana task force uncovered a drug network at Mahindra University in Jeedimetla. This network, involving a Nigerian national, was distributing drugs on campus.

Police have focused on over 50 students. They arrested four individuals: Nevelle Tongbram (21) from Manipur, Mohd Ashar Jawed Khan (21) from Delhi, Ambati Ganesh (24), and Boosa Shiva Kumar (26) from Jeedimetla. During the raid on August 25 at Shivalayam Colony, they seized 1.15 kg of ganja and 47 gm of OG weed.

Officers revealed that OG weed was bought for Rs 30,000 per 28 gm and sold to students at Rs 2,500 per gram.

The investigation began with the Malnadu Restaurant case. It was discovered that drug parcels were sent through Rajesh Enterprises, linked to Sree Maruti Couriers. The delivery was traced to a Nigerian who delivered to student Dinesh at Mahindra University. Another student, Bhaskar, made payments to Nick, also Nigerian. They received 4 MDMA pills twice and used them with friends at Quake Arena Pub.

A senior officer stated, “Nick provided drugs worth Rs 1.3 lakh and Rs 80,000 to Surya on two occasions.” The task force gathered information from university security and students, identifying key suspects through bank transactions. They alerted university officials about 50 students potentially using drugs. Legal actions under the NDPS Act are planned against them.

The drug operation involved a network linking interstate suppliers, local dealers, and students. Drugs were sourced from Delhi and Bidar, smuggled into Hyderabad via couriers, and distributed at the university. OG weed was acquired from suppliers like Arvind Sharma and Aneel Soibam in Delhi and sent through DTDC courier. Payments were cleverly disguised through multiple accounts.

Boosa Kumar ensured supplies from Bidar, passing them to Ambati Ganesh. Ganesh repackaged the drugs into small packets, selling each for Rs 500.

Nevelle shared consumer information with Ganesh and Ashar to expand their reach inside the university. Ashar acted as a key distributor, gathering orders, delivering drugs in hostels, and collecting payments online. Bhaskar and Dinesh facilitated the synthetic drug trade, connecting with Nick for MDMA pills.
