    Parts of Telangana, particularly Khammam district, have been affected by heavy rains, causing people to face difficulties and seek safer places. Some individuals have even been lost in the floods.

    In Jalagama Nagar, a person trapped in a stream managed to save their life by climbing a tree. Locals came to their rescue using a rope made of saris. Many families in the area have taken refuge on the terraces of their houses in an effort to stay safe. Lakshmidevipet village in Venkatapur mandal of Mulugu district experienced record-breaking rainfall of 64.9 cm on Thursday.

    The rain has been continuous in Hyderabad since Wednesday evening. The Hyderabad Meteorological Centre has issued warnings of heavy to very heavy rains in Hyderabad and the surrounding areas on Thursday. Showers may occur at a very fast pace at times. The temperatures are expected to range between 25 and 21 degrees Celsius, with surface winds blowing at a speed of 10 to 14 kilometers per hour.

    The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has cautioned that heavy rains may cause flooding in Hyderabad’s roads and low-lying areas. Traffic problems, disruptions in electricity and water supply, as well as drainage issues might arise in many places.

    Hyderabad has been experiencing light to moderate rains since Tuesday morning, which are expected to intensify in the coming hours. The city may receive heavy rains from Siddipet, Jangaon, and Yadadri. People are advised to plan their travel accordingly.

    In Attahpur, lightning strikes have been witnessed on the road during the heavy rains. A video of one such incident has gone viral on social media, urging the public to stay indoors and only go out for emergencies.

    Telangana witnessed heavy rains on Monday, prompting the Meteorological Department to issue a red alert for the state. The department predicts heavy to very heavy rains for the next three days, with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds expected. Wind speeds may reach 40 to 50 kilometers per hour.

    A cyclone has formed in the Bay of Bengal near South Odisha and is gradually increasing in intensity. A low-pressure area is likely to develop over the North West Bay of Bengal near South Odisha – North Andhra on July 24.

    People in Telangana are advised to take precautions and stay safe during the rainy weather.
