The Special Task Force of Odisha Police has arrested Kanhu Charan Pradhan, the mastermind behind a fake RTI impersonation racket. Previously, Kishore Mishra, a fake RTI activist, was also arrested in connection with the case.
According to sources, Kishore Mishra and others were working closely with Pradhan. Pradhan is originally from Tangi in Khurda but has been living in Bhubaneswar. He is a graduate and used to run a liquor shop in the past.
The case was initially registered at Koraput Town police station but later taken over by the STF. Pradhan has been involved in several other cases, with at least four registered against him. The victims had saved his phone number as Secretary or Additional Secretary.
