    Finance Minister Harish Rao praised the photojournalists for their role in highlighting the Telangana struggle. He believes that the photos taken during the movement are a testament to the bravery and risks taken by these photographers. He believes that these pictures will inspire future generations and showcase the struggle for a separate state.

    During the World Photography Day celebrations organized by the Telangana Photojournalists Association, Harish Rao presented awards to these journalists. He highlighted the unprecedented involvement of journalists in the 14-year-long Telangana struggle. He acknowledged their bravery in facing challenges and documenting situations under siege. Harish Rao emphasized that journalists and writers shape history and guide future generations.

    The Finance Minister also mentioned the government’s commitment to the welfare of journalists. He reminded everyone about the previously announced corpus fund of Rs 100 crore and financial support provided to families affected by Covid. Harish Rao stated that over 32 crores were spent on benefiting 22,000 journalists through Aarogyasri. He assured that photojournalists would receive Government issued Accreditation Cards reflecting their profession, replacing the previous label of ‘photographer’.
