Hyderabad: The Banjara Hills police have filed a case against the GHMC Mayor for allegedly allowing loud music beyond the permitted hours during a Bathukamma event. This act violated noise pollution rules.

The city’s Mayor, Gadwal Vijayalakshmi, attended the Bathukamma celebration and gave a speech from the stage. At the event, a DJ was playing music at a high volume. The local police arrived and requested that the music be turned off because it exceeded the allowed noise levels.

However, the Mayor argued with the police, asking that the music be allowed to continue since it was a Bathukamma festival. The police, sensing that the situation could escalate, left the scene.
