Hyderabad: Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi inspected various development projects in the city to tackle civic and infrastructure challenges. She directed officials to speed up road widening projects to ease traffic jams.
In Rahmat Nagar, residents spoke with the Mayor about daily traffic problems and requested road expansion. The Mayor promised quick action to fix these issues.
The Mayor addressed concerns from people affected by the loss of 11 properties due to junction developments. She asked the Zonal Commissioner for a report by the evening and mentioned that further steps would be discussed with the Standing Committee if necessary.
Mayor Vijayalakshmi also requested the Zonal Commissioner to review the progress of the open gym and multi-purpose hall in Brahma Shankar Nagar. She emphasized completing these projects on time for community use.
During visits to three Anganwadi centers, the Mayor assessed the children’s nutrition. Slum residents asked for another Anganwadi center, leading her to instruct the Zonal Commissioner to take action.
At the Yousufguda transfer station, the Mayor talked with clean auto drivers to learn about their challenges. She announced plans to assign another unemployed youth to replace those not collecting garbage.
The Zonal Commissioner and AC Sanitation were tasked with increasing the transfer station’s capacity and addressing the clean auto drivers’ needs.
Corporator C N Reddy, Zonal Commissioner Hemant Sahadev Rao, CEO Sahadev Ratnakar, and other officials attended the inspection.
