Meru International School recently hosted a remarkable event that has set new standards in compassion-driven education. The school proudly welcomed Asia’s first-ever ‘Ellie’ workshop, organized by PETA India. This event represents a significant step forward in the school’s mission to nurture empathy and kindness in its students.

The highlight of the workshop was Ellie, an animatronic elephant created by PETA India. Ellie made a grand entrance at Meru International School, capturing the attention of young students. With her blinking eyes, flapping ears, and graceful trunk, Ellie helped bring to life the emotional and social experiences of elephants, fostering a deep sense of empathy among the children.

Throughout the workshop, students were captivated by Ellie’s story. The narrative focused on the struggles that elephants face in captivity, circuses, and heavy labor. The story was narrated by Dia Mirza, a renowned actress and UN Environment Program Goodwill Ambassador. Her engaging narration not only held the students’ attention but also taught them about the importance of allowing elephants to live freely in their natural habitats.
