MESCO School Wins India Robotics Championship, Heads to World Finals in Singapore

Hyderabad: Students from MESCO Grades High School in Malakpet have achieved a remarkable victory by winning the All India Robotics Championship in Hyderabad. This success has earned them a place in the upcoming World Robotics Olympiad International Championship in Singapore this November.

The school organized a ceremony on Friday to celebrate the winning team, ‘Falcons’. Retired DGP SA Huda attended as the chief guest, motivating the students to embrace challenges and work diligently. He emphasized that “hard work never goes to waste.”

Senior journalist Mir Ayoob Ali Khan commended the students for challenging stereotypes about Hyderabad’s old city. He highlighted that MESCO’s victory demonstrates that schools from this area can compete and excel nationally. He noted that MESCO surpassed even the most prestigious schools in India.

The students have been dedicated to robotics for three years. They achieved sixth place in 2024 and clinched first place this year in the Robomission Senior category, defeating their nearest competitor by a 50% margin.

Khan appealed for sponsors to support the team’s travel to Singapore. He urged the school’s Secretary, Dr. Iftekharuddin, to help secure financial backing. Dr. Iftekharuddin expressed immense pride in the students’ accomplishments and promised to find sponsors.

Other attendees included Muhammad Shadab from the TAUS Foundation and Mirza Shoaib Baig. Huzaifa Mohiuddin, a MESCO alumnus, presented on robotics and significantly contributed to the team’s preparation and victory.

The triumphant team consists of Zaiduddin, Firdous Fatima, Nadia Fatima, Zainab Fatima, and Zainab. They shared their experiences, the school’s support, and their eagerness to compete internationally. Each member received a memento during the event.

The Nationals in Hyderabad hosted over 700 teams, with more than 2,000 participants and 5,000 attendees. Students showcased their skills in categories like RoboMission, Future Innovators, Future Engineers, and RoboSports.
