Khanapur: MLA Vedama Bojju Patel encouraged farmers to grow fine quality paddy so they can benefit from the government’s bonus scheme.
On Friday, he opened several paddy procurement centers in Kondakur, Dasturabad, Revogipet, Buttapur, Jannaram, and other villages in Khanapur Sattanapalli Kadem mandal. These centers were set up under the guidance of the Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies (PACS).
During the event, the MLA advised farmers to consult agricultural officials before planting their paddy crops. He promised that irrigation water would be made available for farmers in the Sadar Mutt area of Khanapur mandal during the second crop season — from sowing to harvest.
He also urged farmers to sell their produce at the government-run procurement centers to receive the minimum support price.
The event was attended by PACS president Amanda Srinivas, Market Committee chairman Padigala Bhushan, vice chairman Majeed, Khanapur Congress Party mandal president Dhoni Keni Dayanand, other Congress party members, PACS staff, and local villagers.
