HanumakondaStation Ghanpur MLA Kadiyam Srihari has called on the newly appointed board members of the Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple to take firm action to protect the temple’s 206 acres of land in Chinna Pendyal village from illegal occupation.

Speaking as the chief guest at the oath-taking ceremony, Srihari congratulated the new chairman and four directors of the trustee board. The Endowments Department officer led the ceremony and administered the oath.

Srihari expressed disappointment over the lack of progress in developing the temple, despite it owning such a large area of land. He emphasized that encroachers would be dealt with strictly and promised his full support to the board in safeguarding temple property.

He ordered a complete survey of the land to identify how much is cultivable and to clearly define the boundaries. The MLA also asked the board and Endowments officials to gather details about the farmers currently leasing temple land and whether they are paying rent regularly.

If any tenant farmers fail to pay rent, he insisted their leases should be cancelled. He also recommended discussing lease rates with tenant farmers to adjust them according to current market conditions.

Since the temple is located at a distance from the village, Srihari announced plans to improve access. He promised the construction of a road and street lighting from the main road to the temple. In addition, he said a mandapam (hall) would be built for devotees to sit and rest, with a budget of ₹10 lakh.

The MLA directed temple authorities to provide all basic facilities for visitors without delay. He urged villagers to support the temple’s development, setting aside political differences.

He also shared updates on infrastructure projects in the area. A central lighting system and a foot-over bridge have been approved near the national highway close to Chinna Pendyal. Work on these projects will start soon. He added that proposals for a four-lane road with central lighting from the highway are under review and likely to receive approval.

The event was attended by Endowments officials, local leaders, public representatives, and villagers.
