MLA says it’s urgent to stop water shortage for farmers

Hanumakonda: Wardhannapet MLA KR Nagaraju has called on government officials to take full responsibility for safeguarding local water bodies, including lakes, ponds, and canals in the Wardhannapet constituency.

During a review meeting held on Monday in Hanumakonda, the MLA met with officials from the Irrigation Department. He stressed the need to prepare ahead of the monsoon season to avoid water shortages for farmers.

Nagaraju urged officers to ensure that all water bodies are properly filled with rainwater, which will help both farmers and local communities. He emphasized that no one should face difficulty due to mismanagement or negligence.

He also warned against illegal land grabs, especially by real estate developers trying to encroach on canal lands within the Warangal Municipal Corporation. He directed officials to take firm action against such activities.

If any issues remain unresolved, Nagaraju promised to take them directly to Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy and push for necessary funding. He reminded officials not to delay and to act swiftly so that the public does not suffer.

The meeting saw participation from Irrigation SE Venkateswarlu, along with Executive Engineers (EEs), Deputy Engineers (DEs), Assistant Engineers (AEs), public representatives, and members of the Congress party.
