TPCC senior vice-president Niranjan criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s nine-year rule, questioning what progress had been made during that time. He accused Modi of wasting public money and alleged that only scams had taken place under the BJP’s rule. He also brought up false allegations made against the party’s leader Rajiv Gandhi in the Bofors scam and compared it to the much larger Neerav Modi scam. Niranjan asked what happened to Modi’s promises of developing the country using the Gujarat model and providing 2 crore jobs per year.

During a Mahajan Sampark Abhiyan rally, Niranjan also criticized Modi for holding election rallies in Karnataka while the state of Manipur was experiencing unrest. He urged the ruling party to answer for their actions during their time in power.
