Madhya Pradesh BJP in-charge P Muralidhar Rao said that the party is confident about improving its performance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. He mentioned that after the 2018 Assembly elections, the party won four MP seats in Telangana.

Rao addressed the media and discussed the strong anti-incumbency against the ruling BRS party, which has benefitted the Congress. However, the Congress was unable to convert this anti-incumbency into favorable results in the recent Assembly polls. Despite this, the party’s vote share increased significantly, reaching 13.9%. The party also secured second place in several segments in the GHMC area, indicating its potential for growth in Telangana. Rao stated that the party will continue to act as a constructive opposition, holding the Congress government accountable for delivering on its promises.

He expressed hope that former CM KCR would recover soon and actively contribute to the development of Telangana as part of the opposition. Rao also highlighted the recent elections in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana, which demonstrated widespread approval for the BJP and Prime Minister Modi. The party’s success in MP, where it won 26 out of 34 Assembly segments with a significant female voter turnout, indicates growing support from women.
