Hanumakonda: Wardhannapet MLA KR Nagaraju promised to inform Chief Minister Revanth Reddy about the importance of honoring Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy in history. Suravaram, known for his lifelong dedication to his beliefs, deserves lasting recognition.
A memorial event for Suravaram, a former CPI national secretary and ex-MP, took place on Monday. Nagaraju and Kothagudem MLA Kunamneni Sambasiva Rao paid respects by placing garlands on Suravaram’s portrait.
During the event, Nagaraju praised Suravaram as a genuine leader who fought for the poor, workers, and farmers. He highlighted Suravaram’s honesty and dedication as inspiring qualities. Nagaraju felt honored to have known such a remarkable leader.
Nagaraju emphasized that Suravaram lived by his beliefs for 65 years, gaining respect through his unwavering commitment. He mentioned that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had previously honored notable figures by naming institutions after them, such as Telugu University after Suravaram Pratap Reddy.
Nagaraju noted that when regional figures gain recognition, it brings pride to their communities. He mentioned leaders like Suravaram Pratap Reddy, Burgula Ramakrishna Rao, Jaipal Reddy, and Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy, who brought honor to Mahabubnagar district.
He warned of dangerous trends threatening democracy’s core values, noting that fundamental rights are at risk. Nagaraju stressed the need for collective action and awareness to combat these threats. He urged that a united effort and successful results would be the best tribute to Suravaram.
