A press conference took place at Babu Jagjivan Ram Bhavan in Nagarkurnool, led by the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). Kottapalli Kumar, the Assembly in-charge, along with District President Bonasi Ramchander, District In-charge Kalyan, and former State EC Member Prudhvi Raj, addressed the media. They criticized the ongoing conflicts between the current MLA, MLC, and a former MLA, stating these disputes harm public interests.
The leaders questioned why Rs 5 meal canteens, which have been available in Hyderabad for years and recently in Mahbubnagar, are still absent in Nagarkurnool. They urged the MLA and MLC to establish these canteens immediately if they prioritize public welfare.
Concerns were also raised about canteens and bars allegedly operating on government land under former leaders. Additionally, they called for transparency regarding soil scandals and corruption allegations in Thimmajipet PACS.
BSP leaders accused dominant castes of controlling Nagarkurnool’s politics for over forty years. They encouraged SC, ST, BC, minorities, and impoverished communities to unite for Bahujan self-governance. They also blamed the state and central governments for the ongoing urea shortage, demanding prompt action.
The leaders warned that if government offices, particularly police stations, do not serve the poor fairly, the BSP will initiate large-scale protests.
The event included BSP Assembly President Madupu Nagesh (former Deputy Sarpanch of Nallavelli), Assembly General Secretary Bhaskar, Mandal Presidents Raju (Thimmajipet) and Balanagulu (Telkapalli), leaders Srinu, Naresh, BSF Student Union State Secretary Ramakrishna, District President Saibabu, BVF District Convener Venkatesh, along with several party activists.
