    Hyderabad: The Vice Chancellor of Veeranari Chakali Ailamma Women’s University, Professor Surya Dhananjay, officially released a new book titled “Chandulla Ellamma.” The book was written by Dr. K. Muthyam and translated into English by his daughter, K. Pratyusha Yamini.

    The book launch took place at the Mini Hall in Ravindra Bharati. Many scholars and intellectuals attended the event. Professor Surya praised the book’s unique cultural and literary value. She also appreciated Pratyusha for translating her father’s work, calling it a touching tribute to her father’s legacy.

    MLC Professor M. Kodandaram shared his thoughts on the powerful social and political themes in the book. He stressed how important it is to bring such meaningful stories into today’s conversations. Culture Director Mamidi Harikrishna also praised the book and its translation, saying both versions help preserve and celebrate Telangana’s rich literary traditions.

    Other notable attendees included Tula Rajender, former Head of the Arts College at Osmania University; Patlolla Shashidhar Reddy, former MLA and president of the Osmania University Students Union; and Professor Sayanna, former Vice Chancellor of Kakatiya University. Retired professor and researcher Subbachary Pulikonda also joined the event.

    Pratyusha Yamini spoke about her experience translating the book. She said it was more than just a task of changing words from one language to another—it was a heartfelt way to honor her father’s life and his creative vision.
