Hyderabad: As part of a campaign to stop the use of motors for drawing tap water, the Water Board has taken action against people breaking the rules.
On Saturday, officials carried out inspections in different areas and found 32 illegal motors attached to water pipelines. These motors were removed and seized by the Water Board. In addition, 42 people were fined for wasting water.
A senior Water Board officer said that anyone caught using motors in this way will face action under Water Board rules. If someone installs a motor again after being caught once, they will be fined Rs 5,000 and a case will be filed against them.
The officer also advised that if people are facing problems like low water pressure, they should contact the Water Board instead of using illegal methods.
