US President Joe Biden is set to visit Ireland and Northern Ireland from April 11-14 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Good Friday peace accord. The White House announced that Biden will first travel to Northern Ireland from April 11-12 to recognize the “tremendous progress” made since the agreement was signed. He will also emphasize the US’s readiness to support the British-run region’s economic potential for the benefit of all communities.
Biden, who often speaks of his Irish roots with pride, will then visit Ireland until April 14. During his stay, he will spend time in Dublin and his ancestral homes in County Louth and County Mayo.
The visit is expected to strengthen the US’s ties with Ireland and Northern Ireland and reaffirm its commitment to supporting peace and stability in the region.
