The number of dengue cases in Odisha is lower this year compared to last year, according to State Public Health Director Niranjan Mishra. Last year, out of 10,000 tests conducted, 700 patients tested positive for dengue by this time. However, this year, out of the 18,000 tests conducted so far, only 550 have been found positive.

Mishra mentioned that 10 districts have not reported any dengue cases yet, and in 12 districts, the number of cases is below ten. In seven districts, the number of cases is below 40.

He also highlighted that the number of cases is slightly higher in Khurda district. Therefore, municipal corporations, municipalities, and panchayat samitis have been instructed to raise awareness among the public to control the spread of the disease.
