    The prices for petrol and diesel in India today, May 17th, 2023 have not changed. The prices for both types of fuel vary depending on the city. In Delhi, petrol costs Rs. 96.72 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 89.62 per litre. In Hyderabad, petrol costs Rs. 109.66 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 97.82 per litre. In Chennai, petrol costs Rs. 102.65 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 94.24 per litre. In Mumbai, petrol costs Rs. 106.31 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 97.28 per litre. In Bangalore, petrol costs Rs. 101.94 per litre and diesel costs Rs. 87.89 per litre.

    India imports crude oil to make petrol and diesel, so the cost of crude oil affects the prices of these fuels in India. Other factors that affect fuel prices include demand, government taxes, rupee-dollar depreciation, and refinery concept ratio.
