Gold and silver rates have gone up today, May 17, 2023, in Delhi, Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai. In Delhi, 10 grams of 22-carat gold costs Rs. 56,900 with an increase of Rs. 100 and 10 grams of 24-carat gold is priced at Rs. 62,050 with an increase of Rs. 110. In Chennai, 10 grams of 22 carats cost Rs. 57,180 while 10 grams of 24 carats cost Rs. 62,380. In Kolkata and Mumbai, the price of 10 grams of 22-carat gold is at Rs. 56,750 and the price of 10 grams of 24 carats is at Rs. 61,910.
In addition to fluctuations due to international market currency prices and inflation, gold reserves at central banks and their interest rates, as well as the jewellery market can all impact gold rates. Silver rates have also increased in Kolkata, Chennai, and Mumbai to Rs. 75,500 per kilogram and in Chennai to Rs. 78,800.
