Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders have criticized the One Nation One Election concept and accused other parties of being focused on their own families. BJP National President J P Nadda, speaking at the inauguration of the ‘Meri Mati Mera Desh’ program in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad, stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to move the country forward, while other parties only want to advance their families.

Nadda specifically mentioned leaders such as Lalu Prasad Yadav, Akhilesh Yadav, Sonia Gandhi, Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, and Mamata Banerjee, claiming that they prioritize their family members over the welfare of the nation or their respective states.

Nadda also took a swipe at the previous Congress government, comparing the negative connotation associated with the term “2G” during their time to the positive connotation of “5G” under the current BJP government.

Meanwhile, BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh welcomed the decision of the Modi government to form a high-level committee to strategize the implementation of simultaneous elections through the One Nation One Election concept. Chugh emphasized that this initiative is necessary to save resources and finances that are currently exhausted by separate elections.

Chugh urged all opposition parties to collaborate with the Modi government in developing a unified election system throughout the country. He also praised the appointment of former President Ram Nath Kovind as the head of the panel responsible for studying the implementation process.

Chugh believes that combining assembly and parliamentary elections will save time, money, and official duty hours for the Election Commission and bureaucracy. Furthermore, he argues that this new system will bring consistency and continuity in policies and programs between central and state governments, allowing them to focus more on development activities.
