Hyderabad: Students at Osmania University Post Graduate College in Secunderabad held a large protest on Saturday. This came after three students fell ill due to food poisoning from dinner the night before. The students gathered near the college gate, bringing with them a burnt cooking pot to show the poor quality of the food that made them sick.

The protesters chanted slogans, demanding justice and better food services in the hostel. According to them, the three students got food poisoning after eating burnt Khichdi for dinner. The sick students had to be rushed to a private hospital for emergency treatment.

The protesting students also complained that this is not a one-time issue. They said that the food quality has been bad for about a month. In addition to food problems, they pointed out that the hostel has sanitation issues, with a terrible smell around the area. “We have been facing these problems for several days, but the college administration is not listening to our complaints,” said Laxman, a second-year postgraduate student.
