Telangana is bracing for another spell of intense cold weather as meteorological authorities have issued a peak cold wave warning for the entire state, including Hyderabad city, effective from December 18 to 21.

The state has been experiencing cold wave conditions for the past 10 days, and the upcoming four-day period is expected to bring even more severe cold conditions across various regions.

The cold wave conditions have been persisting in the region since early December, affecting daily life and prompting authorities to issue advisories for residents to take necessary precautions.

Weather experts have indicated that this upcoming cold spell will be particularly intense compared to the ongoing cold wave conditions. The drop in temperatures is attributed to prevailing weather patterns affecting the region.

North Telangana districts and West Telangana districts are expected to bear the brunt of the cold wave, with minimum temperatures likely to remain significantly below normal levels throughout the warning period.

The cold wave warning comes as the state continues to witness unusual weather patterns this winter season. The persistent low temperatures have raised concerns about the health and safety of vulnerable populations, including children, elderly citizens, and those without adequate shelter.

Authorities have advised citizens to stay warm and take appropriate measures to protect themselves from the severe cold conditions. Wearing warm clothing, avoiding unnecessary outdoor exposure during peak cold hours, and keeping homes adequately heated are among the recommended precautions.

The agricultural sector may also face challenges due to the prolonged cold wave, as certain crops are sensitive to extended periods of low temperatures. Farmers have been advised to take necessary steps to protect their crops and livestock.

Urban areas in Hyderabad are also preparing for the temperature drop, with residents stocking up on warm clothing and heating equipment. The city, which typically experiences moderate winter conditions, is witnessing unusually low temperatures this season.

The four-day peak cold wave period from December 18-21 is expected to test the preparedness of both urban and rural communities across Telangana. Local administrations have been put on alert to respond to any emergencies arising from the severe cold conditions.
