Hyderabad: Two men were arrested by the Hyderabad Commissioner’s Task Force, South West Zone Team, along with the Golconda police for threatening shopkeepers and demanding money in Bada Bazar, Golconda.
The arrested men are Syed Nawaz, 22, and Khaja Moinuddin Khan, also known as Irshad Mussa, 34. Nawaz is known to police for his past criminal activities and has seven previous cases against him. Khaja has been involved in three earlier cases.
Police said both men are residents of Golconda and are close friends. They have been involved in crimes such as attempted murder, extortion, theft, and illegal possession of weapons. They are also known to lead a lifestyle influenced by bad habits.
On April 5, the two men went to a beef shop in Bada Bazar carrying a knife. They demanded money from the shopkeeper and threatened him when he refused, causing panic in the area.
After receiving information, the police quickly arrived, arrested both men, and seized the knife. The suspects and the weapon were handed over to the Golconda police station for further investigation and action.
