Gadwal: On Tuesday night, District Superintendent of Police T. Srinivasa Rao led a major vehicle checking operation at YSR Chowk in Gadwal town. This effort involved 40 police officers and staff, aiming to enhance visible policing.
Police checked vehicle documents, conducted breathalyzer tests, and monitored traffic rule violations during the inspection.
The SP explained to the media that these checks were part of regular Law & Order coordination. They focused on ensuring vehicles had proper documentation, testing for drunk driving, and issuing fines for traffic violations. Vehicles without valid papers were seized.
SP Srinivasa Rao noted that YSR Chowk’s proximity to the interstate border makes it a key surveillance point. The operation inspected 55 vehicles, registered 4 drunk driving cases, and seized 23 vehicles due to missing number plates or invalid documents. The checks were set to continue until midnight.
The operation was under the guidance of DSP Y. Mogilayya, CI Tanguturi Srinu, Town SI Kalyan Kumar, and involved other officers and 35 police personnel.
This initiative aims to enhance road safety, reduce accidents, and deter crime by maintaining a strong police presence in the town.
