Mahabubnagar’s District Superintendent of Police, D Janaki, is leading an important campaign aimed at helping senior citizens understand the risks of cyber fraud. The police are conducting awareness programs to teach older citizens how to stay safe in the digital world.
In a recent event, the police explained how cybercriminals use phone calls, text messages, and emails to trick people into giving away personal information. The participants were told not to share sensitive details like bank account numbers, PINs, or passwords, to avoid becoming victims of financial scams.
Special advice was given to senior citizens, encouraging them to contact the police before responding to any suspicious requests for information. They were also urged to reach out to law enforcement if they ever had doubts about the legitimacy of a phone call, message, or email they receive.
The event was attended by key officials including Additional SP Ramulu, AR Additional SP Suresh Kumar, Cyber Crime DSP Sudarshan Reddy, AR DSP Srinivasulu, DCRB DSP Ramana Reddy, Cyber Crime Inspector Gopal, and local inspectors from One Town and Two Town. Their presence highlighted the police department’s strong commitment to protecting senior citizens from cyber threats.
