Hyderabad saw a special ‘Community Connect, Cordon and Search Operation’ in Begumpet on Tuesday night. Police seized foreign cigarettes worth Rs 4 lakh. They also impounded about 70 vehicles for missing documents, no number plates, or being abandoned.
The police checked 530 houses with a team of around 200 members. Their goal was to connect with locals, address their concerns, and tackle social issues. They focused on reducing drug activities, public drinking, and other illegal actions.
The operation took place in key areas like Sanjeevaiah Park Railway Station, NBT Nagar, Patigadda, and Old Patigadda. Senior police officers, including the DCP of North Zone and other officials, engaged with residents to gather feedback on community issues.
S Rashmi Perumal, the DCP of North Zone, thanked residents for their cooperation and involvement. The police department promised more such programmes to improve relations and ensure safety. They urged the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities.
