    Hyderabad: The Rachakonda police have arrested eight people involved in the murder of a man with a criminal record at Balapur on August 9.

    The main suspect, Mohammed Hameed, is currently on the run and is believed to be hiding in Dubai. He reportedly offered a payment, known as ‘supari’, for the murder of the victim, Khaja Riyazuddin. The other suspects organized weapons, including a homemade gun, to carry out the murder.

    On August 9, the group deliberately crashed into Riyazuddin’s motorcycle. When he fell off, they attacked him. One of the attackers shot him with the homemade gun, leading to his death, according to G Sudheer Babu, the Rachakonda Police Commissioner.

    The eight individuals arrested are Mohammed Saleem, Mohammad Sultan, Mohammed Ghouse, Mohammed Ismail, Ahmed alias Badshah, Syed Inayatullah, Taufeeq Khan, and Shaik Hussain. However, two more suspects, Fazil and Faraz, are still at large.

    The police explained that there were ongoing land disputes between Riyazuddin and Hameed, and both had filed cases against each other at the Meerpet police station. Hameed also felt threatened by Riyazuddin and allegedly orchestrated the murder after agreeing to pay Rs 13 lakh.
