Hyderabad saw the launch of the Rainbow Athletic Heart Clinic at the Rainbow Children’s Heart Institute (RCHI) on World Heart Day, September 29. This new facility focuses on heart care for young athletes and active kids. The event was in partnership with the Pure Little Hearts Foundation (PLHF) and included a workshop on Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing.
Each year, India reports about 200,000 cases of congenital heart defects (CHDs), with many untreated due to lack of funds or awareness. Since 2022, PLHF has helped over 500 children with essential heart surgeries. The event featured notable attendees like badminton coach Pullela Gopichand, young actress Sukriti Veni Bandreddy, Rainbow Children’s Hospitals Director Dr. Dinesh Chirla, Laurus Labs CEO Chava Sathyanarayana, PLHF Chairperson Yugandhar Meka, and sports medicine expert Dr. Chathuranga Ranasinge.
Dr. Chirla emphasized the clinic’s role in proactive child heart care. Gopichand praised PLHF’s efforts and highlighted the importance of awareness and early screenings. The event also showcased PLHF’s Impact & Insights document.
Around 150 attendees, including doctors, donors, children, and their families, committed to raising awareness about CHDs and improving children’s heart health.
