The Rashtrapati Nilayam, one of the three presidential retreats, located in Secunderabad, has been opened to the public by President Droupadi Murmu. This is the first time that the heritage building is accessible to the general public. Previously, people could only visit the gardens around the retreat once a year for a limited time period. The Rashtrapati Bhavan issued an official statement regarding the opening of the retreat to the public. The statement mentioned that visitors can now tour the Nilayam and see the building from inside, including the Presidential wing and dining area. Additionally, visitors can enjoy traditional Cheriyal paintings while strolling through the tunnel. This move by the President is expected to increase tourism in the region and provide an opportunity for people to witness the grandeur of the presidential retreat.
