Hyderabad: During the latest NITI Aayog meeting in Delhi, Revanth Reddy shared an interesting moment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi pointed to Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and remarked that his ‘friend’ was present. Revanth humorously replied, “I went to school with you, graduated with Naidu, and now work with Rahul Gandhi.”
On Sunday, Revanth spoke at the release of the Telugu version of Bandaru Dattatreya‘s autobiography, “Prajala Kathe Naa Atmakatha.” Reflecting on his 40-year relationship with Dattatreya and Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, Revanth highlighted Dattatreya’s journey from Gowliguda Basti to Haryana Governor as full of challenges.
Revanth compared Dattatreya to former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, who was respected by leaders across political lines. Dattatreya earned similar respect in Telangana for his friendly nature.
Revanth noted the unique gathering of various state Governors at the event, including former President Ramnath Kovind and leaders from the Telugu states. This diverse attendance showed the wide respect Dattatreya commands.
He fondly recalled Dattatreya’s initiative, Alai Balai, which united leaders during the Telangana movement, and joked about the possibility of holding a cabinet meeting at the event. He emphasized that the gathering felt more like a celebration of a respected leader than a BJP event.
Revanth praised both Dattatreya and the late P Janardhan Reddy for being accessible leaders who addressed people’s issues in Hyderabad and Secunderabad. He urged current leaders to follow their example.
Revanth promised to emulate their spirit in addressing public concerns and vowed to focus on Telangana’s development. He also mentioned his respect for Union Minister Kishan Reddy, while noting he would question him when necessary.
Earlier, Revanth honored the Haryana Governor, the lady Governor, and Vasantha Kumari, the widow of former Sikkim Governor V Rama Rao. Many prominent figures, including Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and several ministers, attended the event.
