Hyderabad: The Telangana State United Teachers Federation (TSUTF) is unhappy with the government’s decision to reassign teachers before schools reopen. TSUTF State President Chava Ravi wants all Gurukul schools to start at 9 AM, focusing on what students need. He warned that if the government’s approach doesn’t change, they will rally more teachers to protest.
TSTUF State General Secretary A. Venkati talked about the state’s Badibata program, which began on June 6 to register students before schools start. He criticized the education department for issuing Memo No. 1267 on teacher reassignments, calling it a joke. He noted the contradiction in reopening closed schools and increasing enrollment while adjusting teachers too soon. Venkati is worried this could harm government schools and questioned how the government plans to gain parents’ trust and boost student numbers.
The TSUTF is also pushing for pre-primary classes in primary schools. They want one classroom and one teacher per class, as parents have requested. They urge changes to the rules, suggesting teacher adjustments occur only after student registration finishes.
They also demand teacher promotions within the Education Department to roles like Deputy Education Officers, Diet Lecturers, and Middle Education Officers. Many districts and mandals currently operate with temporary staff instead of full-time DEOs and MEOs.
