Gadwal: On May 28, 2025, a program was held at Brahma Computers Institute in Jogulamba Gadwal to teach women about their rights and safety. This event was organized by the Sakhi One Stop Center.
The session discussed women’s rights, the value of girls’ education, domestic violence laws, and emergency helpline services. A main focus was the 181 Women’s Helpline, a 24/7 toll-free service for women in trouble.
Sakhi staff urged women to call the toll-free 181 in emergencies. This number connects them to legal, medical, police, counseling, and shelter services, ensuring privacy and respectful support.
Woman Police Constable Manjula explained how women can also contact police using emergency number 100. She encouraged women to be brave and assertive. Participants learned about constitutional rights, protective laws, and the empowering role of education for girls.
Key figures at the event included Mrs. Shobha Rani from Sakhi, Mrs. Swathi, a case worker, and Mr. Zubair from IT support. The Brahma Computers Institute management honored the Sakhi team with shawls and bouquets. Mr. Ramakrishna, the Institute’s Head, received thanks for his support.
Organizers noted that this program was crucial in teaching women how to ensure their safety and use emergency services effectively. It enhanced public awareness about the 181 helpline.
This effort shows a strong community commitment to making the region safer and more informed for women.
