Hyderabad: The South Central Railway’s Bharat Scouts and Guides organized the State Level Rajya Puraskar Rally 2023-2024 for Scouts, Guides, Rangers, and Rovers on Friday.
The Rajya Puraskar Rally is an annual event where certificates are given to Scouts and Guides who have completed one year of training. To qualify, participants must pass five proficiency tests in addition to the regular syllabus. During the event, Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager of South Central Railway (SCR), awarded the Rajya Puraskar certificates to those who successfully passed. The event also included a cultural program with performances like singing and dancing.
Arun Kumar Jain highlighted that the Scouts and Guides training helps young people develop important life skills, discipline, and leadership abilities. He mentioned that this training also helps members overcome social and religious differences, promoting equality among them.
Neeraj Agrawal, President of Scouts and Guides and Assistant General Manager of SCR, explained that the Scouts and Guides movement is a global initiative. It aims to prepare young people to become responsible and capable citizens. He noted that over almost two decades of training, children grow both physically and mentally, learning essential skills and building strong character.
P. Kishore Babu, State Chief Commissioner of Scouts and Guides, added that the movement plays a key role in shaping the character of young people. He said that the Scout/Guide prayer, promise, and the nine-fold law are the foundation for building good character in the youth involved.
