RANGAREDDY: Congress leaders in Rajendranagar are reportedly unhappy due to a lack of support from the state leadership.
Rajendranagar is one of eight constituencies in the Chevella Lok Sabha segment. Four of these, including Rajendranagar, fall under Rangareddy district, while three are in Vikarabad district.
Many leaders in Rajendranagar feel ‘upset’ with the current Congress leadership. Some are considering a revolt, believing that loyal and hardworking members are being treated unfairly.
Speaking anonymously, leaders expressed frustration over the lack of unity and support for local leaders, even though the party has been in state power for nearly two years.
A senior leader from Rajendranagar stated, “Despite our hard work, the current leadership ignores many local leaders and favors those with questionable integrity.”
The situation in Rajendranagar is described as alarming. Many leaders feel neglected and betrayed, making it difficult to strengthen the party.
There is widespread discontent about the state leadership’s decision to include MLA Prakash Goud in the party.
Some minority leaders are more vocal and are considering a revolt if their efforts continue to be overlooked.
A senior minority leader criticized the state leadership for sidelining dedicated leaders who have strengthened Congress in Rajendranagar over many years.
“We risked our lives for the party, especially during elections. Yet, our efforts seem wasted as new, inexperienced faces are favored,” the leader lamented.
However, some believe change is imminent, as senior leaders are aware of the growing dissent.
“There are disagreements, but the state leadership will address them and find solutions,” assured a senior Congress leader close to the leadership.
