Hyderabad: Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka criticized the BRS government...

Veerlapalli Shankar, a senior leader of the Shadnagar Congress party and TPCC State general secretary, recently took a strong stand against the illegal collection practices in Shadnagar municipality. He visited Ayyappa and Ishwar colonies in the town’s seventh ward and went door-to-door to address the concerns of the local residents.

Shankar expressed dissatisfaction with the current government and stated that the people of Shadnagar are eager to defeat the BRS party in the upcoming elections. He accused BRS party councillors of collecting money illegally from households within the municipality, causing distress to the residents. He also highlighted the significant increase in house taxes, which burden the public without providing any tangible benefits.

Shankar pledged to address these pressing issues and fight for the rights of the citizens. During his visit to the RTC colony in the seventh ward, he also addressed the grievances of the families of RTC workers. He criticized BRS for merging the RTC, suggesting that it was a political tactic to gain favor before the elections. Shankar questioned their intentions, as they had ruled for nine years without taking any significant action.

He accused both K Chandrashekar Rao and the BJP of being similar, stating that BRS and BJP are “one and the same.” He labeled the return of the bill by the BJP governor as a political stunt, suggesting that it was planned to deceive the public. Congress leaders and party workers, including ward contestant councilor Koppapuram Praveen, town president K Chennaiyya, MPTC Aruna Venkata Reddy, INTUC State general secretary Raghu, and others were present during Shankar’s visit.
