Hyderabad has always been a hub for talent seen on national platforms like Bigg Boss, Indian Idol, and various dance shows. Now, the city’s entrepreneurial flair has reached new heights as a local startup features on Shark Tank India Season 5.

In episode 46, titled “Innovation In Every Corner,” a startup from Hyderabad named Flashoot presented its real-time content creation platform.

Flashoot was launched in 2023 by Voleti Karthik and Manikanta Bukka, with significant contributions from Shreyak Singh. These young entrepreneurs, all from modest backgrounds, funded the venture themselves and worked hard to realize their vision.

Karthik and Bukka completed their engineering at Chaitanya Bharati Institute of Technology in Gandipet, near Hyderabad’s Financial District. Singh mentioned he left engineering studies early.

Their aim was to create a platform that makes professional event videography affordable and accessible via a mobile app.

Flashoot offers professional reel-making and video editing services for personal and business events. The platform allows users to book trained videographers, called “Flashooters,” through an app for occasions like birthdays and weddings.

The service emphasizes speed and ease, promising edited social media reels within 10 minutes, perfect for today’s fast-paced digital world. Users can view videographer portfolios and book them directly through the app. By using smartphones instead of costly equipment, Flashoot makes professional video coverage more affordable without sacrificing quality.

The Shark Tank episode featured a panel of Namita Thapar, Anupam Mittal, Mohit Yadav, Kunal Bahl, and Aman Gupta. During their pitch, the founders highlighted how Flashoot meets the demands of the “quick content” era, where high-quality media is expected instantly from various events.

The founders sought Rs 1.5 crore for a 2% stake in the company. Although the Sharks appreciated the concept and speed of the service, they chose not to invest, citing the business model’s limitations. They noted that AI-powered video editing tools are advancing, making content editing faster and more efficient, which could challenge Flashoot‘s scalability.

Other startups like NapTapGo and BLR Pods also left without deals in the same episode.

Despite not securing a deal, appearing on Shark Tank India is a milestone for the young founders. It has brought national attention to their innovative approach in event videography.

All episodes of Shark Tank India Season 5 are available on the Sony LIV app, showcasing the latest entrepreneurial ideas across the country.
