Hyderabad: The Shri Saibhakt Laxmibai Shinde Trust from Shirdi hosted the Shirdi Sai – Laxmi Mahayagnam 2025 in Hyderabad for the first time. The event took place at the scenic NTR Grounds near Indira Park and attracted thousands of Sai Baba devotees.
The event began with a Palkhi Yatra, a spiritual procession that carried an original photo of Sai Baba from Dwarakamai. It also included the sacred nine coins, which are believed to symbolize Baba’s blessings. The Mahayagnam included a large fire ritual (havan) with 999 havan kunds (sacred fire pits), chanting of Sai Baba’s name, and devotional singing (bhajans). The day ended with a peaceful Sai Bhajan Sandhya, an evening of devotional music.
Arun Shinde Gaikwad Patil, the Managing Trustee of the Shri SaiBhakt Laxmibai Shinde Trust, said that this was the first time in 25 years that the Mahayagnam was held outside Shirdi. He described the event as a special spiritual gathering that brought together Sai devotees, temple heads, and spiritual groups to honor Sai Baba’s teachings and legacy.
Shailaja Maa Shinde Gaikwad, the granddaughter of Laxmibai Shinde, was also present at the event. She honored temple trustees for their commitment and service. Former minister Geetha Reddy also visited the Mahayagnam and received blessings.
An estimated 5,000 to 6,000 devotees from Hyderabad and nearby districts in Telangana participated in this grand spiritual event.
