The Southern Command team won the Army Inter Command Volleyball Championship for 2025-26 in Secunderabad. The event concluded with a grand ceremony on Saturday.
From July 14 to 19, the 1 EME Centre, known as the Indian Army’s Volleyball Node, hosted the competition. Teams from all six Army Commands participated. The HQ Southern Command organized the Championship to promote sportsmanship and competition among Army personnel and to select the Indian Army volleyball team for the upcoming Services Volleyball Championship.
The matches were intense, displaying the players’ exceptional skills. The final match featured a thrilling contest between the Southern Command and Western Command teams. After a fierce battle, the Southern Command emerged victorious with scores of 25-16, 25-20, 23-25, and 25-20.
Brigadier Prashant Bajpai, Commandant of the 1 EME Centre, served as the Chief Guest. He praised the players for their dedication and competitive spirit. The winning team received gold medals and the Championship Trophy, while the runner-up team earned silver medals.
