A special action plan has been put in place in Gadwal to bring out-of-school children back into the education system. This effort follows the orders of the District Collector and is being led by the District Horticulture Officer, Akbar, who is also the Special Officer for KT Doddi Mandal.
On Monday, officials noted that many children from the Gattu and KT Doddi mandals were working in cotton seed fields, which caused a drop in school attendance. In response, the district has formed teams to fight against school dropouts and child labor. The goal is to ensure that these children return to school and continue their education.
The re-enrollment efforts are being supervised by KT Doddi Mandal Education Officer, Suresh. Authorities visited the cotton fields in Erlabanda and Pata Paalem, areas under the ZPHS Pata Paalem school complex, to educate parents on the importance of schooling. The police warned that legal action would be taken against those who prevent their children from attending school. Parents were asked to make sure their children start attending school the following day.
In Gattu Mandal, V. Nalla Reddy, the principal of ZPHS High School, identified 80 children who had dropped out of school. He worked to encourage them to return. NITI Aayog Coordinator, Afzal, also visited cotton fields in Alur to motivate both parents and students to prioritize education.
Several officials participated in this initiative, including District Horticulture Officer Akbar, Mandal Education Officer G. Suresh, MPDO Sri Krishnamohan, GHM Indrasena Reddy, MRO Shivashankar, police officers, and teachers such as Venkatareddy, Praveen, Chandrashekhar Reddy, and Papayya from the Labor Department. Their collective efforts aim to eliminate child labor and ensure all children attend school.
