Mahabubnagar: On Sunday, a car accident occurred in Midjil mandal, hitting a group of women laborers walking by the roadside.
Witnesses said the women were heading home from work when a speeding car lost control and struck them.
One woman was critically injured, and two others had minor injuries.
Local people quickly arrived, providing first aid and transporting the injured to Jadcherla Area Hospital by ambulance. Doctors report the severely injured woman’s condition is serious, and she is receiving intensive care.
Police arrived soon after, cleared the traffic, and started investigating the accident’s cause. They are checking whether the driver was speeding or distracted.
This incident has raised safety concerns among locals. Many are worried about pedestrian safety, as laborers frequently walk on roads without sidewalks. Residents are urging authorities to implement measures to prevent future accidents.
