Sphoorthy Engineering College teamed up with KLBIIHT and the Telangana Department of Handlooms & Textiles to host a seminar on making traditional textiles smarter and more sustainable. The event celebrated Telangana’s rich handloom traditions, such as Pochampally Ikat, Gadwal, Narayanpet, and Siddipet. It also explored how AI, automation, and computer design can improve the lives of weavers.
Experts discussed how digital changes can help artisans economically and socially, along with sustainable textile practices. Around 80 students from Computer Science and related fields attended, promoting cross-disciplinary learning and innovation. The college emphasized its dedication to blending technology with tradition for sustainable and inclusive growth.
